What happens when you submit the form?

YouthTalk is open to any young person anywhere in the world. Whether you're in middle school, high school, or just starting college, if you have something to say, this is your space.

We accept fiction, poetry, personal essays, and school essays. If your writing is heartfelt and honest, it belongs here.

No account needed. You can submit your writing directly through our form with no sign-up required.

Absolutely. When filling out the submission form, simply check the anonymous box and your name will never appear on your post. Your words are what matter.

Fill out the submission form on this page. Add your title, select your genre, paste or type your writing into the text box, and hit submit. That's it.

Yes, you can submit as many pieces as you'd like. Just fill out a separate form for each submission.

We aim to review all submissions within 1 to 2 days. During busy periods it may take a little longer but we'll always get to your work.

If you provided your email address on the form, we'll send you a notification when your piece goes live. If you submitted fully anonymously with no email, check back on the site within at most 5 days.

If your submission doesn't meet our community guidelines, it won't be published on YouthTalk. We encourage you to review our terms and guidelines, make any necessary changes, and resubmit. Every writer grows so don't be discouraged.

Unfortunately we aren't able to accept edits after submission. If you'd like to make significant changes, you're welcome to resubmit a revised version and note in the form that it replaces a previous submission.

Only if you want it to be. If you provided a name or pen name on the form and didn't check the anonymous box, that name will appear on your published post. Otherwise your piece will be published as anonymous.

Yes. If you'd like your post removed, reach out to us through the contact page with your request. However for security purposes we can only process takedown requests if you submitted your piece with an email address and can confirm it matches our records. If you submitted fully anonymously with no email, we are unfortunately unable to verify your identity and cannot guarantee removal.
